Haunted Mansion Holiday

Disneyland and Magic Kingdom (Walt Disney World) – The Haunted Mansion overlay is by far the most elaborate and complete transformation of any ride and is featured from September to early January. A highlight every year is the gingerbread house featured in the ballroom that is a new design every year. This is a must-do ride during the holiday season and feels like an entirely new ride than the original Haunted Mansion. (Ride-Through Video)

Guardian’s of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark

Disney’s California Adventure – If Guardian’s of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT during the day wasn’t wild enough, the Monster’s After Dark version takes it to an entirely new height. (Ha, no pun intended.) As you enter the queue the difference in experience changes as the dramatic lighting, cast member attire and chaotic energy build-up to the pre-show storyline showing new scenes with Rocket and Baby Groot. The ride itself, apart from telling you that there will be amazing music appropriate for Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s something that I recommend adding to your bucket list. (Ride-Through Video)

Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy

Disneyland and Magic Kingdom (Walt Disney World) – The transition of Space Mountain to Ghost Galaxy creates a spooky new twist on a long time favorite coaster at Disney. The Disney Halloween theme rides version features ghostly projections, wicked wormholes, piercing screams and inhuman sounds around every drop and turn that is certain to provide a hair-raising good time. Add in an exclusive ghostly soundtrack and this ride in the dark might just haunt you forever. (Ride-Through Video)

Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree

Disney’s California Adventure – The Halloween theme overlay for Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree brings not only new decorations but a spirited new soundtrack. Even if you don’t hop spin on this ride, it’s worth a visit to see the decorations as Disney spared no detail sprucing up this ride for Halloween. Every cute little detail from the steampunk bat wings on the signage to the baby tractor dressed up like a mummy, this is one of the cutest Halloween overlays we’ve seen. (Ride-Through Video)

Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween

Disney’s California Adventure – Luigi and Guido bring their monster mash-worthy moves to the Disney Halloween theme rides version of Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadstars. Disney added some adorable “Haul-O-Ween” décor and a new soundtrack of haunted twists on the tradition setlist including “Terrorantella” and “The Chop Top of Carsoli.” (Ride-Through Video)
