1 – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Celebrates 20 Years
April 15, 2018 • Disney World’s fourth gate, Disney‘s Animal Kingdom, will mark its 20th anniversary on April 22. It’s no coincidence that the conservation-focused park’s birthday falls on Earth Day. To commemorate the occasion, the hybrid zoo-theme park will launch a new version of its bird show that will incorporate characters from the Pixar movie, Up. There will be other additions, including a two-week Party for the Planet and a new bash in DinoLand U.S.A. featuring Donald Duck. Read More
2 – Donnie Yen To Star In Disney’s Live Action ‘Mulan’
April 11, 2018 • International action star Donnie Yen has been set to star in the live-action Mulan based on Disney’s classic animated film and the legendary ballad. Yen will play Commander Tung, a mentor, and teacher to Mulan. This will be Yen’s second big-budget Disney outing after he co-starred in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Disney is casting up the Chinese film now and has set a release date for March 27, 2020. Read More
3 – Disney Kicks Off Its Streaming Future Today With ESPN+
April 12, 2018 • Today is the debut of ESPN+, a $4.99 direct-to-consumer subscription video service that offers a little bit of MLB and NHL action with a lot of stuff that you don’t typically see on ESPN when channel surfing. There’s no separate app to download; ESPN+ is part of the redesigned, improved ESPN app that’s also available today. A 7-day free trial is available, and if you sign up by April 18th, that test period will be extended to 30 days. On launch day, ESPN+ can be viewed on Android, iOS, Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, and the web. Read More
4 – Disney-Fox Deal To Close By Summer 2019
April 12, 2018 • 21st Century Fox president Peter Rice held the first of two town hall meetings on the lot today to reassure Fox Networks Group staffers amid jitters related to the pending acquisition by The Walt Disney Co. of key Fox assets, including 20th Century Fox movie studio, 20th Century Fox Television TV studio and FX Networks. There were no pressing issues on the agenda, with Rice just providing an update on the process (and also revealing his favorite Disney character — it’s Goofy). Read More

April 11, 2018 • There’s a house for sale in Central Florida that will thrill any Disney fan. The current owners are Disney enthusiasts and the house is decorated and filled with Disney memorabilia. “I don’t want them to leave, I really don’t. Best neighbors you could ever ask for, they love children,” said neighbor Nancy Murphy.
