There’s a lot to be excited about this year for Disney fans with an amazing year planned launching some exciting new attractions at Disney Parks, a full boat of new Disney films coming to theatres including some long-awaited sequels, new entertainment venues, and celebrations new and extended.
There’s far too much planned this year that we can hardly contain ourselves, so here’s just a highlight reel of the top 15 Disney things we’re looking forward to in 2019:
1. Star Wars – Galaxy’s Edge
Now, you had to know this was going to be at the top of our list! We’ve known for some time now about the two Star Wars-themed lands that would be coming to Disneyland Park and Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, but it’s even more exciting now that we know they will be named Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and both are set to open in 2019 with Disneyland opening in summer 2019 and Disney’s Hollywood Studios projected to open in late fall. The new themed lands will feature new attractions, more encounters with our favorite Star Wars characters, and even its very own Cantina, which we fully expect to be playing that same song.
2. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Did you know that everyone’s favorite mouse has never (yes, never) had his very own attraction? Apart from being the most recognized cartoon character in the world, hidden in countless spot around Disney property, featured on more merchandise and food than you can imagine, and even the star of many shows – it won’t be until fall 2019 that Mickey Mouse will have his very own attraction when Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opens.
