What is an SVG File?

Scalable Vector Graphic (SVG) is the preferred file format for use with Cricut Design Space and other cutting machine/design software.

You may have seen SVG files for sales or even free download via Pinterest, Google, or other websites. SVGs allow for technical features such as layering so that you can get clean cuts for multicolor files. However, it’s essential to know that SVGs are going to be the most uncomplicated files for both you and your Cricut machine to work with when creating customized projects.

Where To Get SVG Files?

There are hundreds of thousands of places to find free or inexpensive SVG files from bloggers, online shops, Facebook groups, Pinterest, and more. Some of my favorite places to find SVGs are:

Be sure to save the SVG file to a folder that you can easily find again later. Most SVG files are downloaded as a ZIP file and will need to be unzipped and extracted before you can use them in Cricut Design Space.
